I refer to the letter: Afghanistan.
According to the Central Intelligence Agencies 'fact book', Afghanistan is the world's largest producer of opium and is responsible for supplying 80-90% of the heroine in Europe. The CIA also notes that in 2005 opium production declined by only 10% to 4,475 metric tons.
One must ask just what our soldiers and the US are doing there?
However there is more to Afghanistan then the production of opium, such as the trans Afghan pipeline of which contract for construction was awarded to Haliburton, in which US vice-president Dick Cheney has financial interests.
According to Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, "Dick Cheney's Halliburton stock options rose 3,281% last year to $9.2 million".
In my opinion, Dick Cheney should have been arrested and charged for committing treason under the 'trading with the enemy' act. In Afghanistan, 'Cui Bono'?
