Paul Smith, ALP Abroad President
Date: 15 April 2008
ALP Abroad is holding its annual general meeting in the House of Commons on April 22nd at 7pm in Committee Room 6.Details here at http://www.alpabroad.org/news/2376.html
The House of Commons can be entered by St Stephens entrance, opposite Parliament square. Having our AGM in Parliament is an ALP Abroad tradition and, if have not been to the House of Commons before, come for the experience. The meeting is open to all and a great night so please come along.
We openly encourage people to nominate for positions in the organisation. Enthusiasm is a much higher priority than length of membership. With a Rudd Labor Government, we will have opportunities for interesting Ministers coming and some exciting events in the coming years.
Kevin Rudd gave some very encouraging answers to ALP Abroad questions on overseas voting rights and reciprocal pensions rights between Australia and the UK. For more information on Kevin Rudd talk to the LSE, the coverage in Australia and our press release see http://www.alpabroad.org/news/2381.html .
If you haven't enrolled to vote and you live in London, you have to enrol to vote for Ken Livingstone before April 16th. All Australians can vote in the UK and retain full voting tights in Australia. Full information: http://www.alpabroad.org/news/2364.html
