Now that Labor has committed to providing training for the unemployed, I would like to see some training opportunities created for creative industries skills.
Creative industries are growing at a rapid rate in this country and we need more people with the right skills in the following areas: film, television, editing, camera operation, sound engineering, arts customer service and business, retail and events management.
We need people who can use video and sound editing software like Final Cut Pro, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Pro Tools etc. Courses in these areas are usually very expensive but the government were to offer basic courses for job seekers, I think it will help creative industries to grow even more.
