The purpose of Young Labor is threefold: to encourage young people to vote Labor, to encourage young people to join the ALP, and to develop and promote youth policy and the interests of young people within the ALP.
More than ever before the decisions of today will leave a lasting impact on our future and the world that our parents’ generation will be leaving to us and our children. This is why it is important to be active and participate in affecting the outcomes of such important decisions.
This is also why the motto of Young Labor is “get angry, get active.” Australian Young Labor is the youth wing of the Australian Labor Party – Australia’s oldest political party. Young Labor is involved in policy debate and development, campaigning, representing the views of young people and organising social events for young people to meet other like-minded young people, MPs and party officials.
If you want to help change the world and have a bit of fun while doing it then get active: join the ALP, join Young Labor and be the change you want to see in the world.
WA AYL runs its own campaigns as well as being actively involved with many other areas of the Party. If you are someone who wants to make a difference you should play an active role in Young Labor. You can take part in Labor’s vision for a fairer, more equitable Australia first hand through local campaigns.
YOUNG LABOR EVENTS
WA Young Labor holds monthly meetings on the third Sunday of the month at ALP Party Office, discussing areas of policy relevant to young people and the wider community as well as up coming election campaigns.
